What is a Blog?

A blog is a website or a webpage that is updated on regular basis and is operated/managed by one or more individuals. The webmasters are known as Bloggers and running a blog is known as blogging.

A blog requires regular updates so that an increase in number of visitors can be seen. The more the visitors, the higher will be the earning.

Blog are considered best for earning money online but this isn't the only way.

Step-by-Step Guidance

Blogs are easily created if proper guidance is received by one. Following are some steps that will help you create your own blog easily. Remember not to miss any step.

Step-1; Purchase of a Domain

This is the base of a website that one is about to create. let me explain with an example. if we take an example of a land, domain would be considered as an address. Without an address, no one can reach you. This is why we considered it as a base.

There are number of platforms from where a domain can be purchased. A popular one is GoDaddy.

Step-2; Hosting

Hosting is basically the space that you get on the internet to keep your website. If i continue with the example above, it is like the land that you get in an area. Different hosting packages are offered by different companies including HostGator, iPage, BlueHost, etc.

Step-3; Theme

This is also the most important part when creating a website. You might have heard "first impression is the last impression". The choice of theme will be the layout of your website. Free Themes are also available.

Note; Do install WordPress before the theme.

Why WordPress?

WordPress is an online website creation tool without which you cannot create any website. There are many other tools but i am referring this due to it's being the easiest with powerful content management system(CMS).

Your Blog is created. Now you can structure the website as per your desire. Installation of WordPress plugins will be helpful.

What is Freelancing?

Freelancing is a way via which one can earn a handsome amount sitting at home. A freelancer is one who sits at home and earns his/her living using a computer or laptop by selling his/her product or service.

Freelancers basically bid for projects posted by the buyers.

Who is a buyer?

Buyer is the one who is looking to hire someone who can do their work on behalf of him/her. For this the buyer pays.

Where do freelancers bid for the project?

It is no difficult nowadays as there are so many websites which allow buyers to post their projects. Freelancers just signup to the websites and start bidding by sending proposal.

Search engine optimization

In short known as SEO. It is a process of driving traffic to a website. This is done after a blog is created.

Search engine optimization can be categorized into two main types as follows;

1-On-page SEO

2-Off-page SEO

On-page SEO

This method of SEO means dragging traffic to a website while being online. As per my research, this method keeps 25% importance and it's contribution towards bringing traffic is also 25%.

>>>How it is done?<<<<

On-page SEO is no rocket science. It includes the following;

1- High-quality / rich keyword contents (2-3 daily)

2- Featured image to be added.

Note; High quality content means a unique, original, attractive content. The content to be published with proper formatting.

Off-page SEO

it contributes around 75% to the traffic coming towards a website. Hence this is considered as highly-important. I am sure everyone running a blog wishes to get increased traffic on regular basis.

>>>How it is done?<<<

It is a difficult part in SEO as long as i refer myself to it. Ways to do off-page SEO are as follows;

1-Social media marketing

2-Links

Social media marketing

This means sharing the content of your website to the social media network. Social media network includes;

-Facebook

-Twitter

-LinkedIn

ETC.

Link

By links, i mean getting external backlinks. This should be gained from the websites with higher page rank.

Note; Internal linking is a part of On-page SEO. This is when one webpage URL is included to the content currently being written.

      Hi Maira, welcome to Hub Pages. It seems you have a lot of knowledge in regard to blogging etc. you just need to work on your English phrasing, grammar (always use a capital for the word "I" for example, and the question "How it is done?" Should be "How is it done?" etc. Keep writing.
