I’m a wanderer~

Above the sea of fog and misty sky,

I fly at 38 thousand feet,

In the depth of blue open sky,

I’m a wanderer flying high.

“Hello”, I said and smile at them

“Welcome aboard, boarding pass please”.

Now, all aboard, no empty seats,

I shut the door and crosschecked.

Flight deck is crammed, no space I peeped,

Charming pilots cross checking still,

Fingers flipping switches, On & Off

High & Low, running colored screens.

Soon this beast will leave the land,

Of dreams and all routines,

The safety demo is now on screen,

Watch and pay attention please.

My legs are long and so this flight,

Stop looking down my heels,

Don’t be nervous, enjoy the trip.

Take a gravol if you might.

I hear the engine now sneering,

Signal lights are flashing,

Fasten your seatbelts please,

Destination is Outer Space.

Once up in the air I will be passing,

With my trolley of food and drinks,

“Watch your knees, watch your elbows”

“Trolley behind you, pardon me”.

Recline your seat if you wish,

But save your forty winks don’t starve,

“Beef Bourguignon or Chicken Parmesan”?

Coffee, Tea or Me, I mean beer?”

And though it’s set on autopilot,

Let’s give praise to our handsome pilots,

We’ve arrived safe, say bye and thanks,

To those who paid the price to fly.

What a fantastic job, and a fantastic poem! you lucky thing! I love your words, you described it so well. I love flying, most of the other passengers sit and read or snooze, but I always sit and stare out the window at the ground below watching the tiny trains, and houses, then crossing the rivers and mountains, love it! Its as much fun as the holiday!

I am flattered by your comments Vincent Moore. Thank you for your awesome words and for voting up. I love my job and wouldn't trade it for anything else. I just hope people would appreciate that there's more behind our job than just our pleasing smile and service in the sky. We also act as James Bond and EMS, if needed. Lol! Of course, it is writing that is my first love. Keep well!

Its always amazed me the job you wonderful flying hight attendants do, day in day out. Flying from city to city, airborne and tipping your wings in the sky. You are a true ambassador to your career in the sky, I thoroughly enjoyed this wonderful work. Your imagery and visuals are rapid they take flight in my mind and I am transported to my seat in your jet plane sipping my red wine and watching the clouds of cotton float by below us. Voted up, awesome and beautiful and of course very interesting.
