Back Pain Limerick

Updated on June 22, 2011
Source

When your back unexpectedly goes,

As you bend just to tickle your toes,

There's nought to be done,

'Cept to sit in the sun,

Making sure that you've sunscreened your nose.

Oh the pain of that strain, though the sun's heat may help! Nice one!

I said i would add to this hub

But let's just get to the rub

      My mind has gone blank

      So being quite frank

I'm buggering off down the pub

Very glad that you have taken up the gauntlet of the 'first line' thingy. And to add a limerick to the 'to do' list as well... Keith, you are very motivated. Please write a hub about how you stay so ;)

      Linda.

Very good LW rhyme, rhythm and content nicely covered with a neat brushing of humour. What a mixture, now we all have to add a limerick. I'm working on the other 'first line' project too, but had to work over this weekend, so two to three weeks time.

      Cheers.

      If you’ve sunscreeneed your nose

And you bend to tickle your toes

to the sun you have assumed a swell pose

and who knows what you have exposed

Do those rhymes give you a little ... strife? Uh-ha-ha!

      Sorry *hangs head in shame*.

This is only my sixth limerick - I love them. All of my work, apart from limericks, is prose. It's liberating to be able to break into the poetry world in this small way. Maybe we'll get to see what you come up with?

You're welcome. It's inspired me to try and write some Limericks soon... not something I've done often. Most of my work is essentially prose. :)
