Between The Sheets - poem

Between the sheets

You

Me

Naked

Free

Skin

Scent

Touching

Breathing

Sighs

Between the sheets

Me

You

Heat

Sweat

Rolling

Writhing

Moans

Passion

Unrestrained

Between the sheets

You

Me

Deception

Lies

In

The End

Someone

Always

Cries

MartieCoetser - I love your take on my poem. Yes, it is important to enjoy those moments. Thank you for sharing the folk song lyrics. Always great to learn new things. Appreciate the votes too :)

Excellent choice of words! The fact that someone always cries at the end, if not at an open grave in a divorce coart, is the reason why time spend between sheets should be enjoyed and appreciated....

We have a folk song, directly translated: "Your blanket and my matrass - and there lies the thing......"

      Voted up and hot :)

Vincent - I know what you mean. It would be lovely if the wondeful excitement always lasted. I wrote this from a place of bitterness, because sometimes things sneak in between that turn things the other way. Love is not always happily ever after, but that is no reason not to hope it will be... Thanks a million for sharing this one.

All the comonents and ingredients here for a wonderful, exciting adventure under and over the sheets. I love every descriptive word you used except crying at the end of it all. I would like to think after such a connection, two people would be happy and not crying, however maybe you ment crying with joy. LoL Lovely poem, voted up tweeted and shared.

Gypsy Rose Lee - I think whenever we open our hearts in the way we should if it is true love, we open them up to hurt. Hopefully we make it past the tears of sandess and cry tears of joy... I appreciate the comment and the vote.

Bumpsysmum - Sadly life sometimes includes the unhappy sort of tears. Best we can do is be sure we are not the cause of them, and to weather them with grace when they befall us... Thank you for the compliment. It is always nice to hear good words from a fellow poet.

This really could be expanded. maybe i could work it in to the romantic series I am writing, scene by scene. At the rate I am going, it will be a novel in about ten years!

midget38 - Thank you, Michelle for your thoughtful comment. And thanks for the share.

Here is simething to think about: Are the lies necessarily between the lovers in the poem? Is it one of them crying? Must they be tears of sadness? This can go so many ways, more the longer I think about it.

One always hopes to be crying with joy or passion, sadly not always the case - well captured here.

I agree with Daisy's comment there. You did a great job of catching the reader unawares.....and so true too, how some take love from someone, only to return it with hurt and tears. Passionate, yet filled with truth there. Sharing.

Mhatter99 - I'm honored.... I wrote the end before the middle. And as I was reading the poem I thought how mean of me to take the reader on such a journey only to end it like that. But that is where it went. AndI am glad. Who wants to be a predictable poet.

Wow! You've really painted a picture with your words. I would hope, however, that deception and lies were not always there, that someone didn't always cry.
