Blooming: A Poem
Closed petals,
Hiding from the harsh sun,
With only the darkness as your friend,
I just wanted to peer inside,
To see the color of your soul,
I tried to touch you but nothing happened,
You stood there, stoic, ignoring me,
But I wasn't deterred,
As I opened wide my own bud you stared in wonder,
I became vulnerable so you could trust me,
Only then did you let go of your barrier,
Smiling, you fanned out your petals,
So I could finally see the beauty within.
