Please be well.
I hope you can go to the well.
Get another story to tell.
Please ring my bell.
I want you well.

You are so important.
I need your words.
I need your life.
I need you well.

Please take my breath.
I have more than I need.
It is my turn to sleep.
It's part of my creed.

Take my breath,

And give me death.

Please take my legs.
My spirit begs.

It's hard to rise.
Clouds darken the skies.

Breathe deep.
Clear skies keep.

Mend.
Ascend.

I need your aura.

I'm out of rhyme.
I'm of another time.

I must rise up from my floor.
Give another effort once more.
And once more.
Soon there should be a door-knob on the door.

I cast pearls at other worlds.

I must recoil.
No news the blues.

A broken mind or a broken wing,
Needs Lightning Hopkins or BB King.

I might run away with Cab Callaway.
Lose my pain on the A-Train.

Maybe miles and miles of Miles.

I'll let John Prine change my mind.

How can I stay here.
It should be graduation day.
Who do I pay?

I peck and poke this set of keys.
Mistakes, mistakes these fingers make.
And so much time this keyboard takes.
And what difference can it make?


I try to make my body healthy and thinner,
As the world commits suicide by dinner.

I prolong my time with a conscious diet,
While others just eat to fuel a riot.

Out of time.
Sublime.

What is the quest,
For the rest?

Chasing their tails,
The world fails.

Can't reach.
Won't teach.

Take me home country road!
Give me a load.

To the land where I was born?
Where is the road going Lord?

Some words unkind.

Mother Earth bends over.
All our people turn and brood,
From lack of love and lack of food.
