Don't ~ A Snarky Poem
Don't mistake my smile for weakness
Don't think my quietness is fear
Don't believe my laughter is forgiveness
I may cry but you won't see a tear.
Don't try to hide what you are deep inside
Don't cover it up with a smile
Don't give me manure and call it a rose
I can smell you through all your denial.
Don't take and take and take from me
Don't give me a 'thanks' in return
Don't offer praise for a job well done
I can sense your lack of concern.
Don't puff up with pride in public
Don't boast of things you've done
Don't take ownership of a group effort
I can tell you the world wasn't built by one.
Don't mistake these words for sour grapes
Don't think any friendships will last
Don't believe that others will fall at your feet
I may smile when they call you a pompous ass!
