Equanimity
In times of greatest stress and every worrisome event,
There are those among us all who do so well represent.
Though challenges are tremendous and overwhelming.
Their poise and fortitude are so grand, to be compelling.
Their composure and calmness, with ease, their aplomb,
Set finest examples for us all, to such we might succumb.
Approaching each attack, assaulting time, in equanimity,
They take hold of these situations, with all imperturbability.
Cool-headedness is an affirmation of the harmonious,
While the evidently disturbed do exhibit the erroneous.
The firmest of grasps on the solution to every equation,
Is a placidity, in taking control, an ingenious innovation.
Blowing our stack, in losing our cool, plays much the fool,
As self-control, inexcitability, evenness of mind, does rule.
The well-balanced repose of a few does so lead the way,
Keeping a peaceful balance, to give to us all a better day.
A mild demeanor, gives solace, serenity and tranquillity,
The characteristic of true leadership, a sign of its ability.
As Washington, Lincoln, Roosevelt, Kennedy, to display,
A quietude, equilibrium, made true leaders in every way.
The fool-hearty, the boisterous, poor examples of any man,
The exemplary, of all respectfulness, we all do understand.
We shall now pray to God, begging for a new, a better day,
In times of trouble, worldwide danger, prayers we must say.
