FALLS CRUNKELD LEAVES
Crunkeld leaves all under foot~
Fall is here as it makes it self clear~
It is not misunderstood.
The cool air snuck in as the~
Warmth gave up with a fight~
Certainly now there is less day~
Than night.
My kitty can not make up her mind~
Should she be inside or outside~
Biding her time?
I heard the coyotes in the pitch dark the~
Other night~
For my cat I yelled at them to scare them away~
With a fright!
I mourn the summer hardly believing~
It is gone~
Yet it is inevitable when Mother Nature wants~
A season change she is strong!
So I settle in to hunker down as~
Fall is here with its usual bound! ~
Time to eat the comfort food as I am sorry~
I never over the summer (as I should had) ~
Shed those ten extra pounds.
No more good tomatoes as~
The garden has been harvested and spent~
Now the creatures like mice will~
Try to move inside our home thinking~
It for rent.
The bats who find it too cool to fly~
Through the outside vent~
Might get disorientated and take flight inside on~
Our log house great room rafters till~
They find the attic on a flight back, hopefully settling in for a long winters nap.
Crunkeld leaves all under foot~
Fall is here as it makes it self clear~
It is not misunderstood.
