Boynton Beach, White Coral, Shell, & Sand... Photo by, Stephan

Sea Shells and Butterflies and Blue Skies...

Turquoise Ocean lapping the sand,

and birds of all varieties dancing about, or flying.

We, skimming Rocks and jumping in the surf.

Our footprints in the sand, and feeling so happy.

I always want to Remember this Time.

Big Yachts, flappy Hats, cruising slowly through,

The Intercostal Waterways...and the ocean too.

Speed Boats, Jet Skis, polluting the air, with the noise...

Not a care do they have, making their Big "wakes"...

Ignoring the SLOW DOWN signs, scaring the Manatees,

those beautiful mammals, who just need to breathe.

I would like to always remember, walking for miles,

Hand and Hand, leaving our footprints in the sand.

We, witness, a COLD SPELL down here...

As do the creatures, both big and small.

We pray they find a way to keep warm.

Two days later, the sun is shinning it's warm rays once again.

And everyone on Land and Sea is happy.

Eating out...fancy desserts...laughing with friends...

This is what it's all about.

Now, putting it all into words, to always remember,

this time in our lives, we worked so hard, to get to this place.

And as I look up at your happy face, and into your smiling eyes...

so very glad to be alive...the journey, was well worth the trip!

These are the things I will always remember.

Hi, epigramman, hope I was able to warm you up a bit...It's still COOL for Florida, but I'll take this weather...and enjoy it! We love to walk, so it's ideal...I'm not a lover of very HOT weather either. Thanks so much for stopping by now, go bundle up to stay warm.

Just reading your hub warmed me up a bit. I live in a frozen tundra!

..well if you looked out my window on a day like this at a half frozen wind swept snowy lake of Erie here in Ontario, Canada - you certainly would not want to trade places with me - but I certainly wouldn't mind sharing some of your memories - they sound and read like the perfect poetic scrapbook!!!

I have never been a cold weather person, when the kids were little I lived in Conn. How crazy was that...Anyway I'm happy to be here for the cold months...I still miss the Jersey Shore...But not the SNOW that came down there this year...unbelievable! Thanks for you wonderful comments on this piece. Also Florida has been in the 30's-40's at night...

It's funny you mention butterflies...I always think when I see one, especially the Monarchs...that it is a message of love from my Mom, who is no longer on this earth.

Thanks for sharing your day...I think I would miss the snow too much if I did not have it in winter but I do love the idea of having your days sometimes! All the best to you and those you love, may we always remember to cherish the moments of our lives and remember that we're there for a reason, and it is a choice. I love how you capture your happiness in a small jar and can look at it and describe it and then set it free again. We should all be so thankful. I see your butterflies!!!!

How beautiful Dianeaugust...glad your weather is warming up again. Out of our 50 States, Florida was the only ONE without SNOW...even Hawaii had SNOW on the mountains! Thanks for enjoying this piece.
