Fall Away

Updated on March 10, 2012

Fall away from home
is covered in candy and ice cream cups
with tiny colorful spoons
and walks around the city

I will laugh and chase birds
and have my eyes wide all the time
taking in the sounds
Deep inside my bones

Fall away from home
is lakes and leaves and pretty
there is cold in the air
and softness in my big bed

I will call on occasion
and send presents in the mail
tell you I am doing well
come visit soon, please

Fall away from home
is never all that easy
I will cry alone when I’m lost
and far from familiarity

I will be afraid of strangers
and my heart will wander slowly
I will need what I cannot have

and that never seems to change.

I also enjoyed this and the images. "I need what I cannot have..." is something we have all thought or said at least once in our lifetime. Thank you.
