A Poem Of Love For Father's Day: My Father's Day Poem For My Husband Bob
Father's Day Poem For Bob
My Bob is something special - he always has been but over the 30+ years of child-rearing, he has shown himself to be one class act. It seemed only fitting therefore that I honor the love of my life with a Father's Day poem just for him.
This one is for you, sweetie! You made the ride all worth it and no matter what you may ever worry about, don't worry about being a good father. I think you aced that one!
If there was a way to infuse what you've done so easily into other men, you could sell it and make a fortune. Better yet, you would be a blessing to many, many children out there and I only wish more had had the pleasure to have you for a dad. Of course, it's never too late.....
As I reflect on what a father should be
I come back to you inevitably
As a child the one thing I longed for
Was a dad who lived it, who I could adore
As you and I built our life together
We hit some bumps, some stormy weather
Never once did you waver, never once did you fall
No matter how hard, you trudged through it all
Our kids saw you tear up, saw you break down
They’ve also witnessed you being a clown
Through all of their lives, parts big or small
The epitome of a man were you most of all
By being and doing and loving them true
Gave them confidence to see things through
You showed by example how to be kind
To give always foremost in one’s mind
They thought it better to go with the flow
Truth instead you taught them to know
Lessons taught they remember today
Some having been learned the hard way
You taught them things they should know
Walking life's path, which way to go
I see love for you in their eyes
You’re dad – the best, the perfect prize
You worry sometimes you made mistakes
Matters not because you had what it takes
To love, to teach and to always forgive
To show them to love and then how to live
Success rests mostly in their hands
Having an example shaped their plans
Men have a hard time loving it seems
But you’ve fulfilled all our dreams
Wonderful father, the best to be had
I’ll love you forever for your role as ‘Dad’
Don’t fret so much, wish for new starts
You will forever be pressed in our hearts
