Five years writing on Hub Pages-My thought's
Anyone with the slightest desire to write, " Go for it, you may find joy as I have. "
My first thought when I received notice from Hub Pages that I had reached my five year anniversary was, " Five years, how can that possibly be? Time has flown so very fast. "
A friend, Ann from Alanta, Ga. mentioned Hub Pages and asked if I had ever thought about writing. I actually laughed out loud. " Me writing? Never in a million years. "
Then just out of curiosity I visited the site and saw that it was easy to sign up and thought again, " Why not. no one knows me. I'll give it a try. "
I must admit my first attempts were pitiful! My grammar and spelling stood out like gold on ebony. I thought I had so much to tell, so I started reading and learning. There were occasions when HP refused to publish my hubs due to quality, or shortness, but I was determined to put my feelings on paper. I found by putting my thought's on paper it was a great cartharsis for relieving stress from hurtful events from the past.
I was reminded one day ( kindly ) that I was not the only person in the world who had been hurt. That remark clicked with my psyche immediately, and I began storing my past safely away.
I love to rhyme. I started writing poems. ( Which were not masterpieces lol. ) As my writing progressed along the way, my desire for writing expanded into fiction and short stories.
The friends I have made on HP are cherished beyond words. Their encouragement has known no boundaries. I feel so very blessed and lucky to have filled a void in my life after thirty four years of nursing.
I might add in conclusion, " Anyone with the slightest desire to write, just go for it, you may find joy as I have. "
Before I finish I want to mention the friends on HP who have helped and encouraged me every step of the way. Starting with Michael Friedman, AKA ( mckbirdbks ) who was the first to encourage me to keep writing. Thank you Mike. He is the author of ' Emerald Wells Cafe ' The best book in the whole wide world.
Among the very first was a gal from Africa, Martie Coetser. We clicked from the ' get go ' and never looked back. Along the way I have met the most caring and giving friends on the planet. Maria Jordan AKA ( marcoujor ) is a friend who keeps on giving. Bill Holland AKA ( Billybuc ) who so generously gives of his time to help writers spread their wings.
Many of my dear friends have left HP and I miss them very much. I know I have not mentioned everyone that I love and admire, but you know who you are. Thank you all for a wonderful five years of friendship.....
