Gift of Colour
The Lord God created the earth and last, mankind,
Established the oceans and lands, was all to bind.
All creatures put there, great and small, in his care,
Meant for every thing to have its place, all to share.
At last pleased with his work, an everlasting gesture,
Meant to enhance, make so bright, colours to insure.
Each one in its turn received its own grand signature,
Magnificent hues to brighten this world, to be so pure.
Reds, blues, golds, and greens of corals in the ocean,
In turn the fishes of the deep, all creatures in devotion.
The brilliant painter stroked his brush all upon the land,
Gave precious loved ones, rainbow's colours so grand.
His final touch to mean so much, his dawns and sunsets,
A finest greeting and adieu, our own gift of vision so lets.
As our Maker rests, at last, his work he sees down below,
The gift of all life, his final one, on this world does bestow.
