God In Diguise

Updated on December 22, 2010

God In Disguise

I saw you today, what were you wearing?

Dirty clothes & shoes that were tearing.

I knew it was you, because i was down

& you showed me there was worse around.

I saw you today, sleeping on a bench,

with bags around you giving off an awful stench.

I knew it was you because I was down,

and you showed me there was worse around.

There is always someone who is worse off than us in life and it's our attitude to life and appreciating what we have, rather than what we don't have, that makes us see the bright side of our lives. Unfortunately too many of us look at what we don't have instead of what we are truly blessed to have - A case of is your glass of life half full or half empty?

Cheers for sharing these wonderful and thoughtful words of poetry.

      God bless and keep writing!

You're so young yet you seem self aware. Keep going and keep expressing yourself through the power of the pen :)

I wrote this one day when I was very down in the dumps about life, then I saw a man..homeless sleeping in a park on a bench. And i suddenly god an overwhelming feeling of thanks... That how could I be sad about the life I live. When there are much worse out there than me. Hungry, dying, thirsty, alone. I believe this man was god in disguise giving me a sign.. to appreciate the life i live.

I would like to try continue it... I guess I just need the inspiration. I'm sure it will hit me one day !

Thank you for your lovely comments.

Sweetie, why do I get the feeling that this is just PART ONE of the entire poem? I'd like you to complete it. If you need any leads, just give me a holler.

I like this - your ability to know that you are for some reason beyond your control you and not worse or better of. Have a merry Christmas and a prosperous new year.
