Her Lost Love

To lose someone who you thought you

would spend the rest of your life with is

heartbreaking.

We all have ups and downs in a

relationship, I know I too have

experienced it. How unfair to

experience this especially at

the beginning of a new year.

This has happened recently to a

friend of mine and I tried to comfort

her as best as I could.

I hope this poem will help her in

just a small way.

Her Lost Love

Lost is the feeling of his tender touch

Words are all she has and memories to hold

How can there be truth in this world of deception

Knowing the difference between lies and truth

She feels a chill go down her spine

As the dream becomes reality

All the hopes and trust have gone

You will stay where you belong

In a cocoon hidden away

Wrapped contentedly and there you will stay

With thoughts and dreams yet fulfilled

Returning to reality

Life is cruel to those who love

Who have lost and cannot gain true love

Let us seek the reasons for

The hurt and loss you experience more

The years have gone and left their toll

But there will be more to seek the truth

We love and bear all kinds of strength

To continue forward on this path

We seek solace in our own domain

Caring and sharing, no one’s to blame

But our thoughts can be trained to

To begin once again

To fulfil our dreams when we least expect

Believe and achieve, we will know best

To begin again on this journey of life
