Her Trail of Tears She Leaves Behind
My Sister On Her Harley
Quote by Lucinda Williams
"The perfect man? A poet on a motorcycle."
A Poem
Riding free
Not once looking back
Now moving forward
With such ferocity
The rumbling roar of the pipes
Drowning out those words in her head
Leaving behind that life full of dread
Behind her,
She leaves her trail of tears
Along with long-forgotten fears
The road of life ahead does lure
Against her, the wind buffets, pounding her soul
Responding, the bike, to her body’s every move
Alone with her thoughts
Never having to defend
The warm sun kissing her face
Brings a smile
And she is content to just ride for awhile
Behind her,
She leaves her trail of tears
Along with long-forgotten fears
The road of life ahead does lure
Now shifting gears on the open road
And in life, smelling the world she travels through
While sitting on her steel horse
To the top of the hill with senses in full delight
Then down again, adrenaline flowing
Such an experience of motion through fresh air
Passion fills her heart, which is now without a care
Behind her,
She leaves her trail of tears
Along with long-forgotten fears
The road of life ahead does lure
Leaning into twisty corners
While riding, she is awake and aware
Her mind and heart now free
From the prison made by man
On this glorious morn
Tasting the ocean’s cool, salty spray
Now looking forward to each new day
Behind her,
She leaves her trail of tears
Along with long-forgotten fears
The road of life ahead does lure
Alongside lazy rivers she floats
While wild animals stare
Passing fields of green pleasure
Intense is the wind
Into which she drives madly
Now wet with the scent of fresh fallen rain
She feels cleansed from all of past’s pain
Behind her,
She leaves her trail of tears
Along with long-forgotten fears
The road of life ahead does lure

There She Is Again... My Cool Sister
Trail of Tears National Historic Trail
2013 Marks The 20th Anniversary of The Trail of Tears
My sister rode in the Trail of Tears several years ago, which was an unforgettable experience.
According to Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia, the Annual Trail of Tears Motorcycle Ride began in 1994 by Bill Cason to mark one of the trails used during the 1838 removal of Native Americans from their homelands in the Southeast to Oklahoma. The ride started at Ross’s Landing in Chattanooga, TN with eight riders and ended with 100 riders in at ride's end. TOTRAI's ride has now grown to over 150,000 riders, making it the largest organized motorcycle ride in the world.

National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Fact Sheet just Released
According to the National Traffic Safety Administration, in 2011, 4,612 motorcyclists were killed in motor vehicle traffic crashes—an increase of 2 percent from the 4,518 motorcyclists killed in 2010. There were 81,000 motorcyclists injured during 2011, a slight decrease from 82,000 in 2010.
Unusual Fact
According to insurance claims, the most dangerous day of the year to ride a motorcycle is April 5th.
My sister is not wild in any sense of the word. I just thought this song fits with this hub, and this video with the female rider.

Lucy, My Sister's Best Friend
Easter 2013
Never Looking Back
Since my sister set out on her new journey in this life, never looking back, I have been so inspired by her strength and courage.
She has been looking forward to a much brighter and happier future.
Each day she sets out and takes the steps towards that future by getting herself healthier in mind, body and spirit. She is seeking out her passion in this life.
She has inspired both my husband and I to eat healthier, and one day I may share one of her amazing recipes here.
In the field in which my sister seeks to get into, there is a requirement of physical agility/ability.
Back in January, when she first came to visit with us, she could not even do one push-up, but now is able to do over 25!!! She can now run a mile and a half in 13 minutes. She is so fit now, both physically and mentally, there is nothing she cannot accomplish.
Go ahead, my lovely sister, and spread your wings and soar like that eagle! I love you. You are beautiful.
I dedicate this hub to my lovely sister.
