How To Type With A Cat On My Lap

Updated on December 25, 2012

Very Carefully

Most people might give the cat a little push and say get down

I like to think it is wonderful to have my pet around

When I go on the computer my cat looks at me with great fascination

She watches me type and then she makes her move

She jumps up on the computer desk walks to the arm of my chair and on to my lap

I love the company and she came to join me for one reason

She loves me

She wants to get my attention and sometimes she could be hungry

Other times I think she misses me

Who doesn't love their head rubbed ?

I just melt when my wife scratches my head

It is so relaxing and peaceful

Now it can be difficult to type while a cat on your lap

Depending if I am wearing sweat pants or not

My cat will begin kneeding until she settles in

This could take a few minutes or longer

Any sudden movements might set her off

Even while I am typing she sometimes reaches up with her paw

Until I tell her no or do it slow and she will stop

She gets use to watching and listening to me tap on each key

She curls in a ball or jumps off when she has had enough

Once I sneezed and I sent her running

Other times I have to stop what I am doing because she wants to be rubbed more

Falling asleep in my lap

Looking at her with not a care in the world

Makes me feel good that she can close her eyes and trust me

Purring louder and sometimes I swear she has a little motor built in

Loving each other for who we are

People and animals who bond and connect

Sharing our life

So glad we both have met

Dream - This has to be one of my favorites from you! I lost my dear little pal in October. She was a wonderful companion and I truly miss her. You brought such a wonderful smile to my face when reading this.

My new puppy does double time, filling in the lost times with my dear cat Cleo.

Gypsy Rose Lee Now my cat loves my lap but doesn't like to be held.Cats have their favorite things to do.Heres to many more exciting times. Our cat sleeps down by our feet until she gets board and climbs on the bureau and then under the bed.Poeple say dogs our mans best friend.I think a cat is second and closing in the gap.Because they have more personality and more like people fickled and always changing their minds.Where dogs do the same thing day after day. They want to be walked and want to chase a stick. Then go to sleep by your feet.Dogs are lots of fun.If I had my way I would have a dog and a cat too.The best of both worlds.

Wonderful and delightful story. My Sid is an active boy and not very much of a lap cat so we would have difficulty in me typing and him trying to sleep. At night is a different story. I get comfortable on my right or left side and Sid hops on and sleeps on my hip. Now this is a very interesting and amusing thing to see but we're used to this sleeping arrangement. Cats are wonderful pets.

pstraubie48 Each day never a dull moment. Now my cat has a new habit where whe wants to knock over each speaker on the desk one at a time. Then she turns quickly after they both have fallen and I think is trying to say (who me ?) I give her a mean look and say yes you.Why did you do it ?She looks at me again as to say They fell all by themself and I just was there when they fell.I have to laugh.Thanx for reading and and sharing.

Love those kitties. I have had many. And I love how they choose us. the description of your kitty joining you on your lap at your computer is vividly painted. I love my kitty so. Now that it is cooler, she eats her dinner and meanders back to my room and lies on my heating blanket. I go back and turn it on for her. She stays a couple hours and then returns outside. A kitty is a wonderful critter --bonding and connecting as you say is alright by me. :) ps Sending Angels your way.
