I Can't Go There Anymore

Updated on February 8, 2014

I Can’t Go There Anymore

.

I can’t go there anymore.

Too many memories from before.

One is just betwixt and between,

When Amor slams the door.

.

All’s fair in love and war?

At the end or at the start?

Take the iron and once again,

Sear a brand upon the heart.

.

And I can’t go there anymore.

Could we look the other way?

Every gesture decrypts a message,

And silence has a lot to say.

.

Interpret what you will,

But is there an exit? Another door?

And where are we to go,

When we can’t go there anymore?

.

Wonderful words Micky and I am so glad I came here today to read this gem.

It seems a lifetime away since I last read your great hubs and vote this gem up for sure.

Here's to many more and wishing you a great weekend.

It sounds well thought, and that you were in deep thought when you wrote this, it is brief with deep meaning and wonderfully expressive.

Great poem. I know that feeling...whether it's because you're worried about running onto the person or just being reminded of things. It's so awkward.
