I WANT TO STOP
I want to stop leaves from turning~
As I see them now start to slowly~
Sprinkle to the ground. ~
I am saddened with the warmest of seasons~
Now~
Soon to be unfound.
I want to halt the hurricanes~
From coming~
As the air changes back and forth. ~
I see it rush my favorite times~
As my mind squirmishes with wroth!
I want to stop the sun shortening~
The hours~
Early each passing day. ~
I want to savor the summer sun~
To play and be gay!
I want the night to cease creeping on~
Longer and longer~
Seizing the horizon as a metamorphism. ~
It is doom and gloom for me~
When fall asserts itself as a new unionism.
I want to ban the beaches with~
Watches from closing~
As well to stop the water from cooling! ~
A never ending summer is~
What I am~
Vehemently purposing!
I want to pause those squirrels from~
Gathering nuts as indicating~
Summer is soon to end. ~
My goal is to never see a nut fall from a tree~
As the summer season I defend!
I want the tornados not come~
When it means warm and cool winds are~
Clashing! ~
I do love summer so very much~
For it to be over already~
Seems to be a bashing!
I want to stop leaves from turning~
As I see them now start to slowly~
Sprinkle to the ground. ~
I am saddened with the warmest of seasons~
Now~
Soon to be unfound…
