A Poem By Me
In darkness I gather my thoughts
In silence I ponder
What lies behind innocent walls
What thrills wait over yonder
In other's lights I have grown dim
The void is but my sorrow
to see the smiles that grow on them
who fail to fear tomorrow
In summer nights the rain blocks out
that which I hold so dear
breaking silence with screams and shouts
no laughter do I hear
Within my cage I find no peace
no mercy for my soul
the pain of living can never cease
the embers of life's coals
The void it grows so dark and wide
into which I may borrow
inside a darkness can never hide
forever in my sorrow
