In Darkness I See

Updated on February 20, 2014

A World Not Yet Complete

It is a mere image cast upon the light

That fades in and out

Sharing it's secrets and its talent

Only for a brief moment

Then as fast as the eyes can see

It is gone

It could be gone forever

Unless we also know the secret that only a few people do tell

With darkness people feel fear

Other people feel lost

I feel the opposite

The world of expansion

Growing and growing at every second

Although we can not see

It does not mean it is not there

Take a room in darkness

You would swear it is empty

Then with a flick of a switch

We can see a world like no other

With every kind of valuable and treasure

Then with another flick of a switch

We have the hard cold darkness

That is blank and lonely

If you know the secret

Then you would know the answer too

The darkness is a rebirth

Of every thing imaginable squeezed on this earth

So next time to see something in the light

Imagine what is hidden in the darkness

Something far greater than we can perceive

Enjoy both as they give each other balance

One is no good without the other

So in darkness I rejoice

In the light I am thrilled with delight

Off to bed where I can join with the all powerful

Then when I awake I can actively partake

Using up all my space

I love your take on darkness. It's quite different from the 'I embrace darkness because it hides me from the world' take. I love the yin and yang angle through which you look at it. It's really different and has given me quite a positive, motivating message. :)

I like the flow of this. With the blink of an eye so many things change all about.

In Darkness I See so true about life what you have can just disappear it is good not to take what you have for granted you will only miss it when he darkness appears in the light it all looks too good to be true. Great thoughts here!

The darkness comes so we can sleep and be rejuvenated, while for some other creatures it is the opposite. But you're right DreamOn, things can change and be gone with just the flick of a switch. Enjoy what you have, but embrace what is yet to come.

jhamann I read many of my stories over and over. So nice to hear they flowed.I keep changing my lines time after time. The hidden secret is enjoy what you have because one day it might be gone. Then you might enjoy your new things better than the old ever could bring. Who really knows.Thank you for sharing your time and your thoughts.

Great rhythm and line breaks, it flowed beautifully when I read it aloud. The meaning of the secret though....Jamie
