It’s Praying Time
This poem was written to share at a prayer luncheon sponsored by the Women’s Ministry of Apostolic Temple of Jesus Christ. Honored by the invitation from First Lady and ministry president, Min. Vernanda McKnight, I asked God to give me something new to read and we created the following poem entitled “It’s Praying Time.” Click on the link to read the article recap of the Spirit-filled luncheon of love and liberation held at the Double Tree Hotel in Jamaica, NY on Saturday, November 17, 2012.
The importance of prayer
We are to pray without ceasing,
according to God’s word.
Our prayers are vitally needed
based on the constant negative news
we’ve seen and heard.
People everywhere are hurting
from financial, physical, mental
and emotional woes that conflict
the mind and sicken the heart,
tearing down the inner body
until it outwardly shows.
But Paul says in the book of Philippians
do not be anxious about anything;
make all prayer requests and supplications
known to God, with joy and thanksgiving.
Let’s follow Jesus Christ’s example
with God, the Father, in quiet solitude;
He always took time to seek direction
and receive strength to endure
trials and tribulations
for me and you.
It’s praying time in these last days,
the signs foretelling devastation are in our face.
It’s time to intercede for the world-at-large
in compassionate love before the throne of grace.
(Philippians 4:4-7, NKJ)
”4Rejoice in the Lord always. Again I will say, rejoice! 5 Let your gentleness be known to all men. The Lord is at hand. 6 Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; 7 and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.”
Be blessed,
