Just for Today (Song of the Heart)
Heart's Song
Just for Today
(Song of the Heart)
Let me sing a melody
Even if my voice has left me
Its strike is as intense as a tremor
Still, it still needs to waver
Let the record sound
For sure you will be astound
It is scratched in giving melody
It is even out of its own sanity
Just let the sonata fill the air
In the flow of life that’s full of quiver
Moreover the body is tired
Still the feelings surged
Let me play my guitar
And it surely gives you pleasure
The chords are strewn to pieces
The heart has been thrown to nothingness
Just be enthralled by the piano
And dance to the tune it gives you
Even if the arpeggio is way out of note
The identity is smirched, moreover smote
Just let the orchestra wail,
To entertain the imbecile
Even if the voice is burned out
Because of the blasted shout
Just allow me, and take heed
My heart’s song has to be ended
To sever this madness
That seems to be endless
Just let me have my interlude
And let the tempo fade slowly
Let all things be all but a memory
So I can regain myself and be in solitude …
Ngayon Lang
(Awit ng Puso)
Hayaan mo muna akong umawit
Hayaan mo muna, at ako’y pakinggan
Awitin ng puso sadyang may hangganan
At ng maputol yaring kahibangan
Pagsusumamo ko ngayon lang naman
Hayaan mo muna ako, ito’y tuldukan
Ang tempo ko’y pahinaan
Magpahinga na ang aking isipan
Nang matikman ang kaginhawaan...
This poem is dedicated to my student Jomalyn who asked and suggested to give justice to my poem "My Sweet Refrain (Aking Liyag)" by citing onomatopoeia in it...Thank you for the reminder...
