31st word in the Good Words Project

Legacy 31st word in the "Good Words" project, created by Jo 'Grace' Goldsmith, by giving us words to live by in hopes of inspiring fellow hubbers, to become the best writers we can be. This is Grace's calling, to inspire and promote writers, authors and poets to be the best at
writing we/they can be.

When Grace first started the "Good Words" project, I promised to write a poem for every word. I may not get them done as quickly as I would like but will continue to do them as quickly as possible for me.

I so admire Grace for her Leadership in starting this project, I also know that her Legacy will be more writers and better writers.

The Legacy of Love and Forgiveness

© By Shyron Shenko

Jesus' life is our legacy

Bequeathed to you and me

For our souls he cried

As for our sins he died

As we reap the Harvest of his legacy

The Bible is our inheritance of His Holy word

Which must be our legacy,

To every soul that hasn't heard

A legacy of forgiveness

Given with God's love

To encompass every soul

And forgive us every sin

A legacy of redemption

For the searching soul

Handed down for generation

Until the truth to all be told

Au fait, thank you for the comment, compliment and for sharing, I really appreciate you.

It was great to see you also, with the exception of your hair color you have not changed, sorry our visit was so short. Things did not go as well as I had hoped they would, we were made to feel as if we were doing better than we should be, very demeaning.

We worked outside in that horrid heat yesterday and I think I was on the verge of a heat stroke.

Hope all is well with you.

      Blessings and Hugs Dear Friend

Sharing this amazing thought provoking poem again. Hope all will read it for I know they can't help but be touched by the message here.

More blessings and hugs dear friend. So appreciate getting to see you after so many years and meeting John at last. Hope all went well for you this afternoon. Take care . . .

Au fait, thank you for the comments, compliments and for sharing this.

We enjoy the weather usually if it is warm, it is hard for us to exist in the cold.

Blessings and hugs to dear friend, hope all is well with you.

There's nothing I can add to my previous comments on this excellent thought provoking poem. Sharing so that as many hearts as possible will be touched and hopefully saved.

Hope you and John have enjoyed this beautiful weather day. Spring is my favorite time in Texas and the longer it lasts and the less either heat or a/c is required the better I like it. Blessings and hugs to you dear friend. Hope all is well there. Take care .

What greater gift can one give to anyone? It is what Jesus has given to each of us, and now it is for us to pass it on. They are the sort of things one loses by trying to hold onto them, and refusing to share, but by giving them away, love and forgiveness can conceivably expand to encompass the whole world.

Hope you have spent more time inside in the cool than outside in the awful heat. Take care. Blessings and hugs to you both . . .

Posted to FB and sharing of course . .

You have described well the legacy Jesus has left, but we must still accept His gift in order to benefit. While here on this planet, Jesus taught forgiveness and mercy, which are easy if you follow His commandments:

Matthew 22:37-40 New International Version (NIV)

37 Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’[a] 38 This is the first and greatest commandment. 39 And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’[b] 40 All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.”

The above is basically a summary of the 10 Commandments. I wonder how many people do love their neighbors as themselves?

Obedience to God is proof that one is keeping the 1st Commandment and not placing money or possessions or position in this life above God. Just like doing good deeds does not save a person, but rather shows a person is saved.

Jesus left a perfect legacy. I wonder what sort of legacy the rest of us are leaving?

Excellent poem, and thought provoking. Voted up, BA, and will share.

Shyron, will we ever leave the legacy that Jesus did? We can only try. Beautiful poetry, as is your way.
