Legends Of Zyconia Part 2
Minotaur Madness
The face finally flowed into the existence. Terrek sat up, a rush of adrenaline shot through him immediately.
"Keep calm. the minotaurs are all dead," the young woman said, slight concern on her face.
She put her hands on his shoulders and gently forced him to lie back in the bed in which he now rested. Terrek relaxed and leaned back on the pillow. His body ached from battle and his head was so heavy. The beautiful woman before him smiled slightly as she looked at him out of the corner of her eyes. Her hair flowed down over her shoulders, dimples upon her face.
"Thank you," she said as she placed a warm cloth to his forehead.
"For what'?" he said clumsily lost in her beauty.
"For saving my life," she said smiling.
"Oh, yes. Sorry. I mean you're welcome." Terrek fumbled.
"My name is Diana, who are you?" she said sweetly.
"My name is Terrek." he replied.
"Well Terrek, you are badly bruised, but other than that you are all right. But you should get some rest." she said firmly.
Terrek knew he should get back to Victory City but he was too weary.
"I suppose I can rest if you are taking me prisoner," Terrek joked.
This brought a slight blush to Diana's face as she laughed.
"Well. I wouldn't want you to fall asleep on your horse." she smiled.
"Well knowing Streak, my horse, I would probably show up dragged along, his teeth clamped tightly on my tunic." Terrek laughed.
This time Diana couldn't contain herself the sheer hilarity of Terrek being dragged into the city by his horse made her erupt with laughter. As she laughed she moved over slightly as her hand rested on his. Just for a moment he looked into her eyes and she looked into his. But her he looked into her eyes and she looked into his. But her touch had been accidental, she moved her hand away embarrassed.
"So Diana tell me about yourself," Terrek began slowly.
At first Diana was shy and a little unresponsive, she seemed to guard herself. But soon they were talking and laughing, sharing things about themselves that they wouldn't tell most. Inside both marveled at how easy it was to talk to the other. Finally Terrek slowly drifted off as Diana watched over him smiling. As he fell asleep he whispered to her.
"Thank you." Terrek said.
"For what?" Diana asked.
"I'm not sure," Terrek answered.
Diana laughed as she changed the cloth on his forehead. Besides the fact that they had shared their lives tonight Terrek telt an unexplained connection with Diana. As though the Maker had drawn him to her. Terrek fell asleep feeling, for once in a long time, totally at ease.
Instantly Terrek was awake. Looking through the nearby window he saw the sun shining.
"How long have I been out?" Terrek asked.
Diana was about to speak when someone entered a nearby door.
"You've been out for nearly a day." the man said.
"Perrin, how did you find me?" Terrek said sitting up, a smile on his face.
"You didn't make it easy, that's for sure, but the Council gave me strict instructions not to return without you." Perrin replied.
"Diana, the minotaurs didn't leave you much here. Do you have any relatives nearby that you can go to live with'?" Terrek asked hopefully.
"No I'm afraid my nearest relatives live in Victory city." Diana replied.
Terrek's face brightened.
"You're in luck! That's where we're headed."
