Lightning Hopes Dwindling

Updated on September 30, 2011

Lightning Hopes Dwindling

Up above the rains the sun rose in a twinkling

I cannot put into words the things I’m feeling

If this were living life then life isn’t living

Clouds all around loud rains meandering

Darkness befalls at sunlight’s shining

We search, we thrive, we hope for lightning

To impede light in cessation of happy endings

Hovering across fire-borne paths in burning

Still cooling the soul in its earnest striving

Looking out the window as the invisible is flying

We peek through dark floats as the Sun’s watching

Riding on the wings of hopeful winds gliding

We stare, we startle, we dawdle contemplating

We let ourselves float on Lightning Hopes Dwindling
