Like a Candle in the Dark - a Poem
You light up my life...
This poem was dug out from my old compilations. I was younger then when I wrote this. The poem of Mhatter99 "Lonely Tears By Candlelight" inspired me to look for my "candle" poem. "Like a Candle in the Dark"
Catch my tears, unrestrained, loosely falling
My flame once bright, now is rapidly fading
My innocence is nothing but full of pain
Once lustre and smooth, what am I to gain?
The hot spot and where it’s passion blue
Once when love was pure scarlet and true
Then night swallows my cries in the dark
Drowning in silence, my only light embark.
Alone, I sit alone, my spark glitters spread
My scent fills the room like petals on the bed
Sail my love, safely sail back to me tonight
The ship’s lighted lamp will be a beautiful sight.
The end is nearing weakening my strength
The flicker of heartbeat lessens by tenth
When the moon hides and yet you’re not here
My love it’s alright, the thought of you diminishes fear.
The shadows dance about while I wait still
Dripping tears kept my feet on the windowsill
Then, I see a lamp pass through the mist
From a hazy distance, a kiss flew; I felt kissed.
You’ve proven then that your love is amazing
You’ll find me not just glowing, but a’blazing
My fire have kept its tender promise, not lies
The radiance in my blue eyes is no disguise.
Come sweet love, turn my tears into golden syrup
My warmth, my burning desire has not given up
Light up my fire enough to touch your face
I longed for your truelove, your loving embrace.
