Little Red Riding Hood- A book review
A Ladybird Book
Little Red Riding Hood is a classic tale that has been told over and over again. Based on a tale by the Brother's Grimm it depicts the adventure a little girl had with a wolf while visiting her grandmother.
This touch and feel book by the Ladybird series make the story more interactive for young listeners. They are able to feel the different textures on each page as they listen to the story.
This book is very colourful and have many captivating graphics. The text is simple and easy for young children to digest.
This book
- Helps to develop sensory awareness
- Encourages early language skills.
- Perfect for sharing with young kids.
Through reading this touch and feel book the child is exposure to these different materials - felt, cardboard, cloth etc. They are also able to feel both rough and smooth textures.
Being a hard cover book it is also resistant to being torn by toddlers and it is easy for them to flip through the pages.
The ladybird series has many excellent books for young readers. I do advise parents to borrow the books from their local library for their kids.
