Love Obsession

I am an artist, designer, photographer and writer. See more of my work on cmariearts.

It was an intoxication

Of my being

Almost unnatural

Wrapped up in your

Desire and pain

There was no difference

Between the two

I lusted after you

The power that you held

In my mind

Blurring my sanity

You were my everything

Losing myself in your vanity

Streaming from

My every pore

Heat blazing

My inner core

You and your

Wicked ways

You always knew

How to pull me in

The rope

You held to

Bound me in

Seeing a face I didn't

Recognize anymore

In the mirror

You smiled

I shiver

I was lost

In the facade of it all

The drug

It was the mystery

That kept me there

Where it came from

I don't know

caroline, What a swirling journey into obsessive love! The Lindsay Lohan video really conveys that compulsion.

When the last hold of that addiction is loosed, we all wonder: "Where it came from" and the answer is always "I don't know."

      Well done.

This work presents a fairly close description of the intoxication of romantic love.

Hi Caroline - WOW. I hit all the buttons but funny because that just doesn't fit. Being The Frog Prince, I found the romance intertwined through that marvelous poem.

Quite thrilling an emotion-laden piece any one who tasted love can easily connect with. Fantastic diction and word play. Great work

That short movie was right on the edge, Caroline. I consider Lindsay Lohan a total brat, yet she has fascinated me from the first time I saw her. Yes, I bought the Playboy issue where she appeared(the last Playboy I bought, Nancy Sinatra was in)I even went to the bookstore and talked to the owner, to be sure he would have enough copies. I went three times...and then was disappointed. In that photo shoot Lindsay was not herself--she didn't even "look" like herself. She looked like Marilyn Monroe for one thing and was way too blonde. (So you know, I didn't mind the major air-brushing; I bought the issue simply because it "was" Lindsay.) Dirty old man? Yeah, I admit it. But I care about that girl too. I feel she has been kicked around in her life. Jay Leno said on the Tonight Show that Lindsay's mother had called Playboy magazine and said, "I do have another daughter, you know." I feel that one sentence, whether Lindsay's mother actually said it or not (probably not) illustrates the dysfunctionality of that family.

By the way, if you would send me your email I will send you the first chapter where "Caroline" appears. I think you will like her. She's beautiful, strong and has a seven-year-old daughter "Jenny." My address

Thanks Sheila I'm glad you liked it. Yea this came from a memory from some codependent relationships of the past. They can be like a drug.

That was awesome, and yes, I can relate to that feeling. Love is like a drug, and I miss getting my fix. Thanks for reminding me that it can also hurt and drive you mad. Loved it.
