Love's Last Moment

You live in my mind all the time

As the chambers of my heart flow with tears

I can’t have you but I can’t let you go

I love you but you will never know

How you’ve been so kind but I feel so low

That my skin no longer glows with love’s ecstasy

That’s my destiny

To be no more

I love you so and miss your touch

I can’t take the blow

It hurts too much

Tell me this wasn’t a fantasy

Then I’ll know that this catastrophe

Was about something real

And that all that I feel

Is not surreal

But love’s painful testimony

Which twists in my brain

Like being caught in stormy rain

Where tears pool

In the chambers of my heart

As I think of how we’re apart

And how it’s not so cool

Not even from the start

But what we had was true

Even though it’s now all sad and cruel

Know that my love endures

Always free for you.
