Did you know?

Fear of Death is called Thanatophobia, which is a relatively complicated phobia or fear of dying.

Did you know?

People who are highly intelligent and inquisitive are often at greater risk of Thanatophobia.

Do you have thanatophobia?

Are you afraid of dying?

Viva! Let us dance to life

Before the sun sets for us

Let us enjoy this earthly vanity

Before we cry for Divine Salvation.

But why cry for a soul set free?

The prospect of death in a gloom filled room

And the salvation of soul in the after death

We maybe at peak today and fall tomorrow

It’s all part of the master’s plan.

But where’s the end of our journey?

Life is short and death takes no pity

Heaven or hell – this is a journey we must take

Perhaps more of evil’s finding

Is the difficulty of letting go.

But why be lonely and sick at heart?

How morbid yet death is inevitable

Don’t plunge into despair

It’s a quiet zone down there

Where soon we'll join other travelers.

But where’s joy in the face of mortality?

It is not in the grave, don’t lament

It is in knowing that we’ll be at peace

‘Cause it’s when we leave that we also arrived

And finally one with the ONE.

~XOXO~

A wonderful thought provoking poem. Most of us are afraid of the unknown, and this is the main reason many people fear death. For those with faith it is much less scary. Good poem CrisSp. Voted up.

Thank you Jodah for gracing my page. It's been a while since I last jot down my thoughts and receiving some bad news of a dying kin triggers me to hub about it. But then again, there is comfort in knowing that the dying soul will soon be resting in peace.

Goodnight for now and here I send some love from the sky. ~

Hi CrisSp. A lovely heartfelt work here, well done. I think the manner of our death is what most people are afraid of, we don't know until the time comes do we.

Cris, the last verse says it all. I'm not sure how I feel about dying. I think I'm more afraid of my family dying than I am for myself. It always hurts to lose someone even if we know in our hearts they're in a better place.

Beautiful work, Cris. I am not afraid of dying...I was too close to it once, so it holds no power over me. Having said that, I am definitely not looking forward to it, and I will be mad as hell when the time comes. :)

Death of a loved one does bring the inevitable so close and we are forced for a little while at least to face it. I truly believe it is like closing our eyes here and waking up on the other side with no action in between. So for the dead there is no waiting; only for us.

Beautifully written and thought provoking. Am I afraid to die? A good question. I believe I am more afraid of saying goodbye.

So sorry to hear about your family member.

Voted up and awesome. I did stress about dying but then I logically thought I can't change anything so why live my life in fear? I no longer fear I keep to my faith and let the Lord guide me. The death of a loved one however brings it back home and does make one think twice. I believe those who have passed on are with us constantly and guide and watch over us.

Life is too short to be worrying. The purpose of life is to cherish every day of it and use it to the best of our abilities.

If we are peaceful in our hearts on our journey, then the end part will not be as scary. Our experiences will let us know that we have lived fulfilling lives. Nice poem and nice sentiment, Cris. :)

Oh sweet lady ! Did I need this , this morning ! I got a letter in the mail yesterday about an investigation of the death of my brother two years ago while working on a job .Essentially a labor dept . trial investigation of a company being dropped because of a " technicality" . And reading this I am reminded that my brother was a man of god ! A humble and kind man who rests easily with god now , after a life of toil . Thank you for your awesome "love from the sky " , I needed that ! ........Ed
