Mermaids - A poem of hate

Updated on January 27, 2012

Mermaids - This is about hating the place where you live.

Tell me it never happened

Remind me it never ever happened

From the corner of the garden in between the gutters and the drainage

Mosquitos breed around the banana tree filthy

Then I jump defying gravity

Up above the sky so high

I see the sea, in the bright light

And the vision that it brings to me

The colors were so unreal

I pointed my friend, "that’s where we want to be"

Then the buildings vanished

Disappeared from sight

I saw the endless horizon nothing to obstruct my eyes

I saw the object of infinite reflections

But it never really happened right?!

Wow...this is very good...but I was perplexed by the title. Great poem though!
