A Short Poem: Monster in the Frame

Paint me as a villian,

with shades of black and blue,

and use the darkest colors

to accent all my hues-

Make me as a monster

to eat up all your pain,

and use the widest strokes,

to brush me with all shame.

Cover up your canvas,

with a remnant of myself,

and on your walls hang

onto everything you've felt.

Display a twisted face

and horn me as the devil,

because in your mind- I'm

A sorcerer of evil.

Paint your frustration

and make me with a swipe,

with out a resemblance

to any aspect of my life.

Just know it isn't me,

as you sign it with your name,

wash off all your brushes

and leave me out to hang.

Hey Moms, thanks for your comment, even if my response is six weeks late. I'm sorry you've been painted in such an unfavorable manner. It's a waste of their energy. Hope you have a great thanksgiving with your loved ones around you!

How fitting that I should come across this now when someone delights in seeing me as a monster. Ironically, as they present their artist rendition of me and seek supporters they are unable to sway those that know me. And as she desperately tries to hang me my grace tightens the noose that she has created around her own neck.

If this is based on fact then let it hang. Just as those with no love inside them are unable to portray love, no one could portray a monster if it never existed within themselves.

This is a great potrayal from the perspective of the falsely wronged.

      Hi Brian,

They make you out to be the monster while they play the helpless victim.

      Voted up and away!

      Take care :)

Nicely done. Perceptions are great fodder for poets.
