My Computer Is Broken

Who Can I Call ?

I don't have friends who fix computers

I know little about them except they work

When they don't I am helpless

I heard computer experts like the Geek Squad charge an arm and a leg

So are we left at their mercy

What happens if we bring it to someone who knows

They give us a good price

They are a friend of a friend

Someone we have never met

Do we trust them with all our information

If they computers they know the ins and outs of all our files

If they mess up what do we do then

Bring you to court

You lost all my files and you can't bring them back

You say the computer was messed up when I got it

I tried everything and two hundred dollars later

I couldn't fix it

It still doesn't work

Lucky my computer is working for now

Anyone who has brought theirs in to be fixed let me know

How it went?

What it cost ?

Where you happy ?

Would you just buy another one and avoid the aggrivation

Computers you love them while they work

When they break you curse them to know tomorrow

The way of the world and the way the world works

Kind of quirky and I think a little bisserk

      Must be frustrating to have those experiences. So many people get stuck with the same problem. Unfortunately, it IS hard to find trustworthy and affordable help. Good luck!

      Dim Flaxenwick A great opportunity for those computer experts that don't want to charge an arm and a leg.Great market to tap into.I think computer people are like mechanics they charge the going rate and until someone else changes the status quo.Computer Help Without the Huge Price.$$$ Money to be made.Thanx for sharing.

      Nellieanna I am not sure.I have gone back to pad of paper and a pen.Where my thoughts can cover one side with the blue ink and leave an impression that is bold.I can hold my words up close and examine them carefully.I can flip them over and cover them briefly.I can go back where I left off and it is almost impossible to erase.I think your right once you have been teased with the beauty of a computer it is hard to go back.But the memories our lovely and I forgot how my hand cramps so.Shaking my hand to relieve the pain is something I almost forgot.(lol)It is hard to reach others with my writings and besides it is only my wife and I who will read my thoughts that cover a blank page.Those thoughts will later only collect dust and maybe give my cat something to play with.Thanx for changing my life for the better.

      OH dear. Well - have you made sure whether or not you computer is still under warranty? Have you had it very long? Did you buy extended warranty when you bought it? If it is under warranty, either the original or extended, you can call the company's customer service or whatever number they gave when you bought it, describe what is happening to a a tech with whom they'll connect you and get help. If it's not still warrantied, you may still be able to get help from a tech at the company and pay for it. Also computer stores usually have repair service - I think. You do need to feel confident in whomever you get to fix it. The best way is to go to someone qualified. Protecting your data is important, including protecting your ID and critical information on your computer.

      So it's working again now, on its own? Or did you have someone work on it?

      You need to line up a procedure if it goes out again. If the computer is really old, a new one may be a good idea. You can get software to transfer your data to a new one. Do you back up your data some way?
