My Puppet Came to Life but It Had Psychological Problems.

I made a puppet out of cloth and sponge stuffing

It was my creation but kind of funny looking

I used colorful cloth to make his body

And little buttons to make his eyes so tiny

I set him on the table and I began to pretend play

That he would be a real boy like Pinocchio one day

I created a tiny wooden bed with some hay and that was where my puppet slept

I also carried him on my shoulder because he couldn’t take the steps

I made a simple prayer one day and asked for life for my creation

And a miracle happened greater than impeachment of a nation

My puppet suddenly came to life and started reacting on his own

Then he looked at me and asked why I made him dress like a clown

He said he hated the bed and wanted something bigger

And he was afraid of society and wanted something with a trigger

I tried my best to please my little puppet

He said he loved music and I even bought him a trumpet

Then he began to dislike songs and asked for a pet

I gave him a little puppy I got from a vet

My puppet told me he was allergic to dander so i brought back the dog

Then he said he wanted to start a family of his own and I needed a bigger yard

He said that he did not like the sun and wanted to blow it up

Then he began drinking alcohol and began to hiccup

He said he needed someone to talk to so I gave a listening ear

He told me he felt like cutting himself everywhere

I was heartbroken that my puppet came to be this way

I couldn’t let him live one more day in dismay

So while he slept I pulled open his stitching

And set his little mind free from what seemed to be bewitching

Now my puppet is gone but a new one is on the way

I pray to God he just doesn’t behave the same way.
