My Quintessence: A Writer's Reflection

Updated on May 27, 2015

My Quintessence: A Writer’s Reflections

“Words are, of course, the most powerful drug used by mankind. “
Rudyard Kipling

The right to write comes with great responsibility. Being a writer doesn’t mean we can pour out all those deep hidden emotions and lambast our readers with all those torrents of words… After all we own the keyboard and we can type all the things we want to say, right? For words have the power to create or to destroy. The power to build a harmonious relationship or severe a strong foundation of friendship. It may hurt the person spoken to; nevertheless it may boomerang to the speaker. Words create either a healthy energy or a poisonous venom.

This was not supposedly the tempo of my words, for I want to maintain a harmonious relationship with my fellow hubbers… After all they’re always there for me, supporting me all the way. My fragile emotion was irked up by one who answers a question. Why can’t he just ignore the question instead of leaving that nasty comment? This hub was simply, supposedly to be written in order for you to have a glimpse of the writer behind those hubs…

Please bear with me if I sounded feisty a little while earlier…

Why do I write?

More than a year ago I suffered from depression; I was like a zombie then. Yet, a friend suggested that I would frame words or more and create a poem. Presto, I published my first poem on Facebook, then later on I gain writer friend who have share the same interests. From then on, I share with them some poems whenever something inspires me.

What do I write?

My topics range from deep seated emotions like depression, anger, loneliness, betrayal; social issues, educational system, even stories I’ve read or movies I watched; natural phenomenon, friendship, tips, advice. Anything this brain could fathom.

So that’s it, I haven’t published so many. Three or more poems were denied because of duplicity, I will try to republish it later. I really thought they were good, yet Hub declined it.

Anyway, I am always thankful to my fellow Hubbers who are very supportive. Keep up the good work guys… Happy hub hopping…

Whatever words we utter should be chosen with care for people will hear them and be influenced by them for good or ill.

Budhha

A very thoughtful hub my friend and it sure leves much food for thought.

Your hubs are always clear to read and understand raciniwa and please continue to do so.

Since I have been writing here on Hubpages, I have grown as a writer and a person.

I publish'personal'hubs with confidence,I am much calmer and give evryone the right to disagree with me because no-one is right/wrong in many areas of life at the end of the day. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion .

We have followed each other here on Hubpages for a good while now raciniwa and I count you as a good friend so let's move into the New Year with strong minds.

Take care and enjoy your day.

      Eddy.

We express love in words, we hate someone in words. What is love or hate, for that matter, just words. Words are actually mines of our knowledge, it has been rightly said Word is God, in Hindu Scriptures.

      I enjoyed reading your perception.

Very very insightful write Raci. It is an article that should be shared to all writers who hesitate, who are buffered by insecurities that they can't write because writing is just an extension or an expression of the self. It is personal, but it can be public too when shared. The important thing in writing is that it should remain true to the writer and it should show the person behind the words very clearly. And you always write with lucidity and candidness and no mixed messages. I like that. It is beautiful because it is simple and unadorned. Keep writing and inspiring us. love, Nikita

always exploring...thank you as always my friend...yes, it can even create war among nations...let me quote this part of the Bible...

Pro 16:20 Whoever gives heed to instruction prospers, and blessed is he who trusts in the LORD.

Pro 16:21 The wise in heart are called discerning, and pleasant words promote instruction.

Pro 16:22 Understanding is a fountain of life to those who have it, but folly brings punishment to fools.

Pro 16:23 A wise man's heart guides his mouth, and his lips promote instruction.

Pro 16:24 Pleasant words are a honeycomb, sweet to the soul and healing to the bones.

I think sometimes words are sharper then a sword and can do just as much damage. My motto is, if i don't agree, i don't comment. I have not always felt this way and many times i made comments that i wish i could take back..Great reminder...

Hey raciniwa. Calm down lady. I am with you on the Question thing. Some people really leap out of nowhere, and write stupid answers to questions that they don't understand. I also agree that words should be chosen carefully, and not just blabbered. Having said that, I do believe our deep seeded emotions have a strong role to play in what we write, but yes, at the end of the day, we should know how to choose those emotions when holding the pen.
