My White Flag Hangs Tonight
by Amber Maccione
My white flag hangs tonight
With the pain of heartache’s bite
You told me we would be forever
But now it be you and her
I was once your pride and joy
You even had me give birth to our boy
Yet you turned us in when things got rough
Saying you just weren’t ready for relationship stuff
You said you couldn’t be all I wanted you to be
But eventually you would come back for me
Now you are doing with her what you should have been doing with me
Your dreams now seem to be found in she
As I sit here dying from this new found pain
I just cry to God to let death’s sting wane
When we met, I told myself love had finally been obtained
But now I am dying of a love disdained
So as I wave my white flag in surrender
I hope that our memories make you remember
That there once was a love so deep and true
And all I need is that kiss to make me come to
