Not My Everyday?

Updated on May 31, 2013

I want to stand on the mountain,

Looking far and wide.

Feels like I'm stuck in the valley

With an emptiness inside.

I want to see every rainbow

Span across the sky.

All I see is the falling rain,

Like a teardrop in my eye.

I want to hear a symphony,

One to move my heart.

The silence is so deafening.

Wonder when the music starts.

I want to live the "Happily"

That's "ever after".

I'm running through the final act,

In hopes of hearing laughter.

Is this to be my everyday?

This path of my life.

A man who seems so lost, alone.

Trapped on the edge of a knife.

I love this. It got me to thinking about true Joy in our lives. Sometimes we spend a lifetime trying to find something to make us happy. We look everywhere from the people we surround ourselves with to places we live to the jobs we have trying to find what will fulfull this need to be happy or joyous. We blame everyone but ourselves for not having or finding that true sense of joy/happiness/contentment. There is someone who can fulfill that and he is God. To have a relationship with Him and to live for Him and let Him live through us is to know true Joy. To find true peace and like you said in your poem to fill that emptiness we feel inside us. I voted up and beautiful. Thanks for sharing this
