On White Horses Once Again.

Updated on August 7, 2013

Yesterday I watched a film about a little boy grieving for his granddad and he was being fobbed off by the family. They were of the mind-set that he was too young to be told!!

How sad this is for a child and I think it is so important for us to treat them with sensitivity and not like tiresome kids who should be out playing and not being a nuisance eaves dropping on adult conversations.

I have been busy creating horse collages and it must be one of the most relaxing times ever to flow through the wind riding these gorgeous horses hence today's title.

I initially had just Karen Carpenter singing Ave Maria until my friend Billy ( aka billybuc)mentioned this song 'Run for The Roses' by Dan Fogelberg.. I had never heard it before but I instantly loved it hence the addition of another song.

Sweet horse trotting

Emphasising happy hearts

In sweet abandon.

Harry so enjoyed his Grandma's lessons on life !!!

Harry's Grandma

was very old;

her home so dark

that closed curtain

agro phobic deal.

"Sit down m' laddie a story for you!!"

Her toothless smile

a shudder so true!!

Our life m' laddo

just like a mountain

Each person

to taste

to climb

that steep slope alone

to test your true self

to build your own worth!!

A pink mist surrounded

his granny so faded

but the enveloped mist

disappeared and lifted

but what was this

his granny a young girl

so beautiful

so radiant!!

"We are in a sweet meadow

so many to choose

each one outlined

by a silvery stream !!

"This enchanted land

so dotted with Daisies and Buttercups

each sprinkled with inner strength

and honesty

so clear !!"

"This is childhood !" she continued

with Harry

sitting by her side !!!

"Then we begin

that climb

a little steeper than before;

the going a little harder!"

"Look around

each view so beautiful;

a picture so awesome

so treasured

so precious!!"

" Such breath-taking moments

are every bit worth that climb!"

On we go!!!

Upwards and onwards;

From strength to strength!!

Body in similar fashion

until that peak once so

far far away

is within touch;

it's true beauty

by the mature evening sun.

The purity

of a moment

almost beyond belief!!

"We can now stand proudly on the summit

looking back

on the times

we have travelled ."

"We have overcome and we can so proudly

sit back and

enjoy resting deep in

our own

havens; full of care, .love and compassion!!"!!"

"The greatest achievement of all!!"

Harry fighting back tears

threatening to overspill

" I don't want you to die yet Grandma!!"

"Nay me child I am going to be around for many a year to come!"

"Being a nuisance and a pain is my mission in life from now on!!"Grandma's eyes then had that faraway look in them as she travelled back in time!!

"Your granddad Harry enjoyed his life on the peak of the mountain for man many a year before it was his time to go to his sweet paradise !!"

"That snowy white peak so glistening full, of life treasured moments!!"

At this point the pink mist appeared again and when it had disappeared just as suddenly as it came Harry saw that his grandma had returned to her old self !!!

Those snow peaked mountains of life.

A little later sees Harry with teeth brushed and in his pyjamas ;took off his dressing gown and holding the hot water bottle which his Mum had put in the bed for him earlier. He took a final look out of his window and in the light of the silvery moon his eyes rested on the paddocks and the slightly muffled view of the sheep and lambs gathered underneath the branches of The Old Oak Tree.

He soon drifted off into a delicious filled sleep dreaming of his beloved granddad stood proudly on top of his snow capped summit wearing goggles and waving his little flag !!He was also dressed in his Sunday best suit !!

Harry snuggled down in his feathered mattress ; his hot water bottle adding to the warmth and love he always found in Grandma's house.

Goodnight granddad and grandma.!!!

Horses were more than animals to Harry they were his family.

When you were born

I felt that special bond.

It was so overwhelming

Love was all around.

I loved you with a passion

That knew no abounds.

So magical your moves

So sweet your sounds.

You grew from a foal

With a grace so sublime.

I watched with such pride

This was truly your time.

You sure welcomed me

Deep wisdom in your eyes.

Oh yes I knew for sure

You were so very wise.

Such beautiful wonder

My heart so proud of you;

With flowing enchantment

As free as morning dew.

We chased each tomorrow

With an union so sweet;

The waves filled our souls

With each blessed heartbeat.

We rested for some days

Awesome beauties to shine;

You are so majestic

Beautiful friend of mine..

We flew through each bleak storm

With an intense clear force;

I held you my heart

My soulmate and my horse.

We flew over each hill

And down into the dales.

Through sunshine or rain

Strong breezes or gales.

You rose up and showed

Your powerful strength and being.

"I will remember !" I promised.

"I'll never stop believing."

A rose tinted mist

A magical descent;

Your rippling muscles fine

With pride our ascent.

I woke from my slumber

And a new day dawning.

Had I been a-dreaming ???

My heart now believing

I see you so often

Through a mist far away.;

I remember our time

Yes every single day.

You came in my sleep

A powerful bright sight.

Darkness now dispersed

Step out into the light.

Remember standing strong

Through each and every fight;

I've now tasted freedom

Through your presence so bright !!

I hope you all enjoyed today's hub and here's to wishing you all a wonderful day.

      How lovely, Eddy. I know just how that little boy felt as I once experienced it, too, when my Grandpa died and I was thought too young to understand and was not allowed to go to his funeral to say Goodbye. You have written about that experience so well. As always, love the images, too.

      Wow Eddy, you have outdone yourself on this! So beautiful and I am so glad you listened to billy because I have never heard that song and it is soooo beautiful! This hub will be the joy of this day for sure! You always get as many votes as I can give. Poetry does not get enough attention here in my opinion and apparently it is as important as any writing and it almost always talks to our hearts! Yours does for sure.

      This one hit a bit close to home, because reminded me of my own grandmother, who loved the song Ave Maria (so much so that she asked it if I would have it played at our wedding and of course I did). Beautiful really Eddy and thanking you for sharing. Wishing you a blessed day now!
