Orville Redenbacher Biography
The Father of Popcorn
Orville Clarence Redenbacher
A Popular Business man most associated with a product that bears his name
Born July 16 1907 - Died September 19, 1995
Known for the GREATEST brand of popcorn called
"Orville Redenbacher's Gourmet Popping Corn"
Born in Brazil, Indiana, grew up on his family's farm and graduated in the top 5% of his class at Brazil High School in 1921. He sometimes sold popcorn out of the trunk of his car - for real!
He attended Purdue University and joined the agriculture-oriented Alpha Gamma Rho fraternity (go figure, I bet their FRAT PARTIES were a hit), he joined the Purdue All-American Marching Band and also the track team. He graduated in 1928 with a degree in agronomy.
Redenbacher married his first wife, Corrine, from 1928 to 1971.
She died on May 24, 1971.
Redenbacher remarried that same year to, Nina until her death on May 8, 1991.
Although he sold his business in 1976, Orville Redenbacher remained the spokesperson of Orville Redenbacher's Gourmet Popping Corn
Orville Redenbacher was found dead on September 19, 1995 in his Jacuzzi where he suffered a heart attack and drowned at his home in Coronado, California. He was cremated and his ashes were scattered at sea.
He spent most of his life in the agriculture industry, serving as a Vigo County Farm Bureau extension agent in Terre Haute, Indiana, and at Princeton Farms in Princeton, Indiana.

What's the Redenbacher Family think of the commercial?
Sources say that they don't mind at all that their dearly beloved has been digitally created. In fact, they said they think that Orville himself would approve of the idea.
Really...?
I had the video of the digitally created ORVILLE REDENBACHER commercial here, but it has since "gone private" for some reason. See for yourself at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fcn4p213Zg8
The commercial below is with the REAL ORVILLE REDENBACHER himself!
