Is There Such a Thing as True Love? Does True Love Exist? - a Poem
April is National Poetry Month
Here's an older poem I'm recycling for National Poetry Month. Write some poetry! Read some poetry! Enjoy poetry! #7
When is Love Real?
This is yet another “A.M. Poem” from my wee-hour scribblings, this time about the expression of love and what is really real. See below for more A.M. poems.
When Love Seems Real . . .
I Love You...Really?
On the sappy movie—
Some damn chick flick—
A Greek god tells
A leggy blonde
That he loves her,
Almost carelessly,
So easily,
As if the words were easy
And had always been there.
She doesn’t seem surprised,
Flicks her long hair back,
Smiles easily,
With perfect teeth,
Repeating the same thing
To him now,
Perhaps automatically,
So simply,
As if there was never a question.
Were there any nerves involved?
Hesitation? Or doubt?
Seemed to be none…
None of the normal stuff,
No fear of rejection…
But assurance,
A confident smile,
A sure gaze,
Along with a smug, “I love you.”
My eyes harden
Towards the embracing couple.
I want to slap
That stupid blonde,
That bronzed dark god,
Because she is so calm...
And that can’t be
What it feels like
To hear those three words.

- Sometimes Nothing Makes Sense - a Rambling Poem
Years ago, when going through rough times, I would write poetry until the wee hours of the morning. This is a rambling one, as many were, about nothing making sense. I liked to call my collection, "The A.M. Poems. - Foolish Babbling - a Poem about Foolishness?
Writing into the night is something writers often do. From my spiral notebook of "The A.M. Poems," "Foolish Babbling" speaks of the need to stop writing...and rest. - What's Life All About? What Really Matters? - a Poem
This poem is yet another mad rambling from "The A.M. Poems," written in the wee hours of the morning. This poem has to do with loss, searching, and the feeling of whether or not it really even matters. - Always the Goodbye Girl? - Poem and Music
Is goodbye always forever? Is it just a part of life? Another of my "A.M. Poems" questions that, while David Gates' song "Goodbye Girl" promises more.
