Quiescence

Shadows filter purple

their underbellies rich with possibility

as I sift time

into evening.

I am again being pulled toward smaller forms. They seem to fill the silence and still let the silence spill through--

Audrey, quiescence, one of my very favorite words. The poem is wonderful. I am liking this shorter, sparer form. Much siad in so few words. Blessings.

I, too find that you have once again illustrated the art of poetic genius.

      Thank You,

The words may be less in number, but they capture and convey so much, like the transient beauty of a flower that blooms but for a moment in time. This is stunning artistry, my friend.

So peaceful and wonderful imagery! It soothes and encourages contemplation. Love Mike's 'water through kelp' too!

The rhythm is perfect and you say much with so few words, Audrey.

Depends on the mood, I suppose. True. You will know, of course, that both are in harmony... the microcosm and the macrocosm ...

Ah! diversity and change. Another exquisitely expressed Hub!

Lovely, Audrey! Whether a short form or a longer one, your choice of words is masterful. Those quiet moments at dusk are introspective and peaceful much like the calm before the storm. I like to sit and take it all in before the change of shift between day and night. Happy holidays:)

Sift time short and beautifully expressed. Love smaller forms of poetry. Haiku is one among my many favorites.

The divine mind is at rest, peaceful

      Not so human beings

The divine mind has no thought of violence

      Humans have anger

The divine mind is not jealous or cruel

      Humans envy and hurt

The divine mind does not condemn or punish

      Condemnation is human, not divine

Know the divine will never condemn or punish you

All negativity is a projection of self, not the divine

Decide to become more like the divine

No criticism, punishment or guilt, at peace.

Yes, they do, the "smaller forms" with so few words needed.
