Romance on the Appalachian Trail
"What do you want to do tonight?" Dwaine asked his crush Carli.
"I want to go to the beach." Carly replied hesitantly, blushing just a little, the string tie of her bikini top poking out from her rustic cable knit sweater that she got from Grandma for Christmas last year, the last Christmas she ever had with Grandma before she died of pancreatitis, a disease that is swift and fast and that you never see coming, like a freight train.
"Sorry I'm rambling on and on." Carlie said with a shy smile.
"It's OK." Duane said in reply to Carly's explanation of why the conversation was going nowhere.
Soon they were in Dwane's 2009 red Chevy Tahoe with manual transmission going 90 mph on a 60 mph road.
"Wheeeeeeeeee!" Carla exclaimed passionately as she reached over to kiss Dwayn.
Before they knew it they were in there hotel room ordering room service.
"I dont want to live in West Virginia my entire life anymore." Carly sighed wistfully.
"Me neither." said Duane in reply. "I wanna see the world and go to Thailand, Jamaica, Bermuda, Mozambique!"
"Yeah."
They got married by the ocean just as they had always dreamed, and soon they had twins. They became world travelers and got their own TV show on the Discovery Channel about raising twins in Bermuda as world travelers. There was nobody Dwight and Carla would rather be with than Dwight and Carly.
Conclusion
This is a story about romance and adventure for two lovers. They are in love and love leads them to have a good life.
Major Themes
The themes of this flash fiction are love and adventure, and that is why I decided to make Dawn and Carlos get married and live in an exotic location at the end.
