Sad Dad

Updated on November 30, 2014

11/12/2012

My eyes are tearing when I see him like this

A remarkable character with a unique style

Whom I've seen tough enough to fight with the police

To help the young who would even go an extra mile.

Drastically it happened

A shock for everyone who cared

With so many tubes and bedridden

The sight was too much to bear.

The young and old, who loved him so

Shared the adventures of the untold

I wasn't aware that with the time, I've loved him more

Until he's no longer warm but empty and cold.

This poem I wrote when I saw my (step) dad sick and bedridden for the first time in my life at the hospital. Within 2 weeks after he fell sick, he went to be with the Lord. It's sad that he's no longer here, but glad to know that he won't be suffering with pain.

Thank you Sasanka7 for the visit to my hub :)

Yes it was very sad to see him like that. Writing surely helps me out to calm myself Billy. Thank you :)

Thank you Micheal for comforting words. I surely do hope he's in Heaven with Jesus. As for my writing, I know that I'm really good in writing sad poems than happy ones..

Yes Eddy, it's great to know that he's no longer in pain .. Thank you for the encouragement.

Wish you all a Happy New Year and God bless you!!

Sad but also beautiful;a tender moment and how nice to know he is no longer in pain.

I now look forward to many more from you. Here's wishing you Happy New Year.

      Eddy.

Ann, I was so sorry to hear of your loss. Your stepfather is in a better place watching over you to make sure his girl will be fine . Always have faith that he will help you make all the right decisions in your life. This is a beautiful start to give him on his journey to the next dimension of love. Your poem is beautiful and I can see that you are becoming the poet that I knew was in you from the beginning of your work .

keep on writing for you have a bright future in you .

      Michael

It is a very sad thing to see our father, who was always the pillar of strength, bedridden and merely mortal. You captured it perfectly.
