Silence Speaks. An Offering to Dora Isaac Weithers. (MS Dora)

Updated on April 9, 2017

Thank you, Dora, for asking me to write something on Silence. So this is effectively your Hub. Most proud to do this on your behalf. Gratitude ... much.

Invoking Silence

You were there in the beginning,

Twirling a rhythmic grandeur of cosmic rays.

Oozing a quintessence of Love,

You dined in the effulgence of Your own rhapsody.

You became form and dwelt among us,

Spinning a poetic web so intricate,

That the seeds of Thy embryo,

Dazzled the cute sanctum of the Heart.

Charmed Silence! I stand before You,

A supernal rose adorned in splendour;

Bedecked in the fragrant garland

Of Thine infinitude.

Celestial Sanctum

Beat, beat! Great Stillness!

Beat the drums of longing in my Heart.

I yearn for happiness –

To feel the eloquence of Your poetry,

Dancing in my core.

Sweet Silence,

You cradle my pains; set fire to my anxieties,

Cuddling the Heart with Peace and Joy.

Thy secret, O Beloved :Torrential inner tears,

Drowning out the millennia, of life's painful fears.

Come! Ignite my inner flame,

With the resonance of Your breathless music.

Let Thy nuances and intonations, permeate this frame,

Cushioning the din of my desires,

To let me shine, on the craters of the sun.

Awakening The Inner Light

Craters of the Sun

Quote from a Seer

"Silence is the eloquent expression of the inespressible." -Sri Chinmoy

" Silence is the nest and music is the bird. The bird leaves the nest early in the morning and returns to the nest in the evening. Similarly, in the spiritual world, divine music comes from the inmost soul of Silence." - Sri Chinmoy.

The three nicest people I know are Ms Dora, my Bev, and Lea on HP. Sorry, bro, you and I aren't even in the discussion compared to those three. :)

      Funny, Bill.

At least I laugh again. Seriously, MS Dora was my first friend here and I treasure her immensely.

      Hi Ruby,

You actually said it like the Seer. Silent ... yet dynamic ... moving ... thank you so much!!

What a poetic treat! This is one of your poems that I have to read and re-read several times. You make silence speak so eloquently "Cuddling the Heart with Peace and Joy." It is a most beautiful offering. Thanks to you my friend.

Bill Holland, I love you too.

      Thanks Dee.

Won't be worth it if it simple. Silence is golden and quite deep. Thank you so much!!

This is very interesting! I really enjoy the idea of asking personal opinion on silence, for me it is a dynamic force, moving chaotically throughout my life oftentimes, and more rarely acting as a calm and peaceful flowing. I am glad to see that this poem leaves the room for everyone to interpret their own silence and what it means to them.

Another sincere one. Bear in mind your youth, Isabella. Sometimes that happens. The force of Love is slowly transforming the lower nature. Rejoice!-Lantern

      Sweet Silence,

You cradle my pains; set fire to my anxieties,

Cuddling the Heart with Peace and Joy.

How utterly beautiful. It teared me up. Manatita, you have the style and heart of the poets of old. You are my cup of tea.

      So sweet Lori.

You are the first to mention the poets of old, although some are familiar with Rumi. I started poetry at four and except for the few odd ones like my latest: Poems not Bombs, I tend to follow the style of the mystics. I want to serve; to inspire; to elevate; to awaken the Heart and for me, I feel that this is the best way.

So yes, I'm like Keats, Blake, Dickinson, Rumi ... my spiritual mentor who has only just passed and so forth. Thank you so much!
