Start Your Day With Music

Updated on August 14, 2013

It Can Do Wonders

When you feel you just can't get up

You lost all your energy and power to go

Listen to the beat

Listen to the words

It will give you ideas

As you sit or lay down

Let the music penetrate

Through every pore in your skin

Vibrate turning your bones into a xylophone

Repeat the words that you hear

Try to pick up the rhythm

Don't worry if your dog covers his ears and howls

Your cat hides under the bed

Keep trying and soon you will get better

Words are linked to emotions

Emotions bring on action

Action brings on more action

When your blood starts to flow

You are moving in the right direction

Maybe you yawn or even try to stretch

Getting your legs moving

Try standing up

Walking and dancing works well

Singing a song that you enjoy

Repeating it many times in one day

You never get tired doing the things you like

You even feel better each time you hear the words

Because they resonate deep in your core

You can not stop it even if you tried

Music has a hidden beauty that you can never hide

Up and beautiful, Michael. Music speaks universal language, touching the deepest connection of spiritual world. When inspired by Divine, we never are (feel) alone. In those "prehistoric" days when there wasn't radio or any other reproduction of music, this little boy was repeatedly whistling or singing tunes of edifying songs under impression not being alone.

      Peace with you.

DREAM ON very nice poem. You had me already dancing on my chair as I read. Yes, music does make a big change in us. It helps me to sleep also, isn't it an oxymoron? Music wakes us up and helps us sleep.

No doubt about it my friend. Music speaks to me even when I'm not willing to listen. LOL Even our dogs enjoy having music on (they definitely prefer soft rock) and the chickens respond when they hear the songs coming from the house. It seems music has a universal appeal. :) Good job!

Kathryn Stratford All my poetry comes from memories or day dreaming of life.I would be honored if you linked my hub with yours.Thanx so much for thinking of me.Good luck writing.kidscrafts That sounds like so much fun.I am sure you learned a lot.Our cat started over cleaning herself and we looked online why. They said it could be nerves. So now we leave Classical music on for our cat every day.She doesn't lick as much and her fur is growing back.We are so excited we didn't have to pay for a vet visit and put her on medicine.Thanx for reading and all the wonderful comments.Have a great day.

I love classical music! When our kids were young, one was learning the violin and the other one the flute with the Suzuki method.... so first thing in the morning, we put the tapes of Suzuki music :-) It was a great way to start the day!

I often use music to make me feel better. I am currently preparing a hub on how to be happy, and listening to music is on my list. DreamOn, would you mind if I put a link to this on the hub? It's a catchy poem, and would fit in well with the theme. But since poetry can be really personal, I want your permission first.

Thanks for sharing this with us, and have a wonderful day!

      ~ Kathryn
