Stuck Between Trust And Forgiveness: A Poem

Updated on April 26, 2012
My interpretation of Roy Lichtenstein's "Crying Girl". Done with Sharpie.
My interpretation of Roy Lichtenstein's "Crying Girl". Done with Sharpie.

Stuck
Between loving you
And wanting to be all alone
I hurt me...
I can forgive
You hurt me...
It takes time
Trust
What a stupid word
Just want to sleep
Forget it all
That solves nothing
Puts more distance
Between
Us
Separate rooms
Separate houses
Separate states
Separate lives
Forgiveness
I don’t want to
I’m dark
I’m blank
I’m sad.

BlossomSB, I'm still working on that forgiveness. Thank you so much for the comment!

Forgiveness can be so difficult, but is so necessary for ourselves. You expressed it so well.

Voted up. This poem has all the emotions one could want. Makes me think of all the broken marriages out there and what all that does for the kids involved. Well expressed.

This poem captures a lot of initial hurt and pain that our loved ones can inflict and pain we inflict upon ourselves Well done, beautiful expressions!
