Snapshots of A Someday, Maybe Life
Flashes
What is it that we get?
Flashes,
moments of color,
strung together,
sweet,
like sticky beads on a candy necklace.
Fragile just the same.
Smoke and chocolate,
tasted for a second,
on your mouth.
Crunching leaves,
hands clasped,
dodging mosquitos.
Snow,
cold beneath feet
cloves on the air
A flash of silver,
spied in tangled sheets.
Every tender moment forms a web,
delicate and dangerous,
ours alone.
We balance together on these moments.
Like so many stepping stones on a still pond.
Living forever in each moment.
Creating a path,
to another life,
another time.
