Summers Vanished
Departed with silence~
As the chilly air took its place~
Summer has vanished now~
With little of a trace.
Hardly a remnant of the summer sun~
Is left to warm my bones~
Even the birds~
Are few and already mostly gone.
The wind has a nip as it hits my very being~
Coolness urges me to hunker down~
Hindering my tasks in this unwanted season~
For a hibernation doom I am now sentenced to be bound~
For not to me is the confound reason sound!
Oh yes the colors are marvelous~
Dashed about in all the trees~
However I miss the summer with every heart beat~
Yet there is nothing I can change about autumns laden leap~
Only GOD could stop the arrangement of summers defeat.
Departed with nary a warning sound~
Not an alarm was heard~
As summer has died down~
I feel as though in cold sorrow my life is now unfurled!
For my heart belongs to summer~
My days in the summer season always happy and gay~
I dread the beginning of a dormant existence~
As autumn brings the winter closer each day.
Departed with silence~
As the chilly air took its place~
Summer has vanished now~
With little of a trace.
